Traditional Thai Medicine for Personal Use
Imagine someone performing gentle stretches and yoga poses on you as you lie back and enjoy acupressure to release stress, pain and tension? Nothing to do except sink into the sensation of complete body-mind bliss.
All of these and more are what make Traditional Thai Massage a whole body practice. An amazing massage that regulates the nervous system, opens the joints, stimulates blood-lymph-energy flow, boosts energy and relaxes the body-mind.
Learn Traditional Thai massage, and some foundational holistic health practices for use on your partner, kids, family members and close friends.
Traditional Thai massage, or Nuad Thai, is uniquely Thai and based on Traditional Thai medicine. It can be used to relieve aches and pains, as well as maintain good health.
The proposed course will follow a simple format:
- Learn 15 and 30-minute massage routines.
- Learn Reusi Dat Ton, the forerunner to Thai massage, a kind of self-massage that keeps you in good shape.
- Learn about the yoga poses that are the foundation of Thai massage, and how they stimulate the body’s self-healing.
- Learn the Sen lines or meridians that run through the body, and how to apply pressure to them.
- Learn the Thai massage technique and sequence, and what you can use on the body, such as herbal liniments or balms, for pain relief or to relax muscle tension, and soothe damaged fascia.
- Practice yoga everyday with a qualified experienced teacher.
- Practice every routine on a massage buddy, to feel what it’s like to receive, as well as to give a Thai massage.
- Classes will be small, allowing for plenty of attention, and opportunity to ask questions.
- Offered as day workshops for convenience.
This course is under development and will be offered in mid-to-late 2026. Stay tuned.
